BeChinatown received a $40,000 donation by USPAACC and Wells Fargo to directly fund their goals to put up lanterns along Chinatown and several safety initiatives.
In the process of recovering from the pandemic and the attacks on Asians across the Bay Area and the country, there have been concerns of occasional burglaries happening to some businesses in San Francisco Chinatown. All the donations will be used to install lanterns in Chinatown to illuminate the street and attract tourists, and to purchase a batch of door locks recommended by the police, which will be distributed to applicable merchants to strengthen security.
